Join the Official Selection of Pixelatl 2026

El Chinelo is the recognition that each year we award to the best animated short films in the world, the best Latin American video game of the year, and the best Mexican comic published.

In Animation, the selected shorts become part of the Pixelatl 2026 Official Selection, and you can be part of it!

You can participate in three categories:

Best International Narrative Animated Short Film
Best International Experimental Animated Short Film
Best Student Animated Short Film from a Mexican School

In all cases, works must have premiered after January 1, 2025 and up to the closing of the call on August 30, 2026.

All works that meet the submission requirements will receive a 1-day Creator Pass for the 2026 festival, which will take place in November: the 7th and 8th in Zapopan and from the 10th to the 14th in Guadalajara.

Selected works will receive a Creator Pass for the entire festival, as well as access to some exclusive activities for selected participants along with other guests. The winner of each category will also receive, in addition to the Chinelo Statuette, a Market Pass for next year’s festival.
