Pixelatl Zapopan & Guadalajara
This year our festival will take place at two venues on two different dates: November 7 and 8 in Zapopan, and November 10 to 14 in Guadalajara.
Pixelatl normally took place from Tuesday to Saturday (with some activities on the preceding Monday). However, when the venues were far apart, it was difficult for attendees to travel between them. For this reason, we decided to try this new format, which will allow participants to attend activities at both venues if they wish.
Activities in Zapopan
November 6, 7, and 8
We are aiming to shape the activities in Zapopan around what we call the "Creative Toolkit," with a series of useful content given the current context of the global industry, ranging from topics from a broader perspective (such as how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign for projects) to very specific but useful topics for authors and illustrators, such as typography for beginners.
But that's not all: we'll also have activities open to the general public at the Cristina Peña promenade (outside Casa del Autor), including the Amoxtin market, as well as some drawing sessions and workshops for children.
The activities in Zapopan will take place mainly at Casa del Autor and INGENIA
The festival's opening conference will also take place in Zapopan on Friday the 6th at the Cultural Center.
Activities in Guadalajara
November 10 to 14
In Guadalajara, the format will be similar to previous years, with several activities taking place simultaneously in different forums and classrooms, as well as in the new Expo area, all located at Ciudad Creativa Digital, except for the screenings, which will take place at some of the conferences that will be held.
However, this time we face the challenge of more advanced construction work on the new Ciudad Creativa Digital building, as well as the redistribution of spaces: where the Expo and Torre A Auditorium used to be, there is now a museum, so the auditorium has been moved to an area of the esplanade and the Expo to the ground floor of the new building under construction. In addition, the market will be held this time at the Indie 100 cluster.
Which pass will work at each venue
The same pass will work for activities at both venues. If you have a pass for the entire festival, you can attend activities at either venue.
In the case of the workshops in Zapopan, all of them will be available to Campus Pass holders, and access will work as it does for all workshops, according to the registration process, which you can check here.
