Roi Contreras

Director at Mr. Machin | Mexico

Founder and director of Mr. Machin, a radioactive animation studio. He specializes in directing animation projects, crafting visual and narrative universes that blend humor, pop culture, irreverence, and a healthy dose of chaos. He is the writer and co-director of "Charamuscas" Guanajuato’s first animated series, a production that has already won three TAL Awards. Throughout his career, he has produced and directed web series, short films, music videos, commercials, and animated projects of all kinds. Whether commissioned, created for fun, or born from the idea of teaming up with other equally eccentric creators, his work spans the realms of auteur-driven, commercial, and cultural projects.

As Mr. Machin is the creative partner of Pixelatl, he directed the Cineminute 15, an animated piece created to celebrate the festival’s 15th anniversary, bringing together creators from across Mexico.
